Hope, but never expect. Look forward, but never wait.

So...

I've always believed in the first sentence. I've found it to give me the correct sense of balance in life. Keeping my expectations in check.

The second one...is a worthy addition :)

What is hope ?

Hope makes the world go round. It is what keeps us from slitting our wrists or jumping off of cliffs

Hope is what keeps us striving towards the next day

Hope is what we desire - but aren’t sure that it will happen

Hope is what we always look forward to

But

Hope is intangible

Hope is improbable too (in my experience)

We need to live in the present… we cannot keep hoping and living in a make believe world where anything and everything will be ok or will turn out great

I always hope that things turn out good or for the best - but i don’t wait for it. I accept a few things for the way they are and then go on living my life. If fate deems it to be - so be it. If not, then too - so be it.

Life can be harsh sometimes, cruel even. We can't always hope for it to get better. We have to work hard at improving it, making it sustainable and enjoyable. Make the most of the circumstances. Hope doesn't play a part here.

Expect good things to happen, once the hard work, effort and energy has gone into something. Hope, may play a part...but the sum of the efforts usually fructifies. Not necessarily in my case though :( Unsure why. But, i've learnt to deal with it. It's a difficult lesson to learn.

Irrespective of how things are - we should still keep our chin up and keep striding forward, towards the light.

Waiting around for things, circumstances, people to change or to be good, should never be an option. Keep hustling forward. Don't wait. If it happens, great ! If not - so be it.

Life is unfair. Expect it to be unfair. Accept it for what it is and keep moving.

Hence - Hope, but never expect. Look forward, but never wait.
