So...
Princess and I go shopping once in a while. She is inquisitive to try different things - in the chocolates and confectionery section ! She will often pick up some ostentatiously priced product and I will have to reason with her on buying or not buying it. Mostly - I give in.
We'll start at one end of the store and she will question most products I pick up - why this masala? why this flavour ? why this condiment, why not a different one ? why are you taking sooo many of that ?
She will stop me from picking up too many chocolates and ice creams - anything which satiates my sweet tooth :) She is my conscious keeper - most of the times.
But, mostly, shopping with her has a different kind of happiness. It has a different satisfaction. A different experience.
It's devoid of looking at the final cost of shopping. It's devoid of the conditions which precede any shopping expedition. It's devoid of the arguments while buying groceries. It's not limited to a shopping list - it's an open exploration of the aisles and the plethora of products on offer. While there may be a shopping list - it is often superseded with a lot of ad hoc merchandise - while mostly implies, it is also to experiment different types of food, of preparation of different cuisines etc.
There is a sense of calm - a peaceful co existence of her just being with me.
